What is VOICES?
VOICES began in the fall of 2002 as a choral project of the Affiliated Choruses of Ithaca to create a multicultural group of singers interested in learning, sharing and singing songs from diverse ethnic choral traditions. Our hope is that this group serves to broaden your musical understanding and promote racial and cultural harmony through the experience of singing world music with other members of the Ithaca community. Each semester, we perform one major concert, as well as a few performances for community service. There are NO AUDITIONS. The ability to read music is NOT a prerequisite.
Where We Perform
We perform in various community venues such as local schools, senior homes and community sponsored events, as well as have at least two major concerts a year. Currently, we have about 40 members. Everyone is welcome to join; you do not have to know how to read music and there are no auditions.
