ACI Fall 2026 Workshop – On line registration is now open

Attention all choral singers! The Affiliated Choruses of Ithaca (ACI) is hosting a fall workshop where participants will learn about the changing vocal mechanism through a variety of ages, along with exercises and strategies for singing in a healthy and meaningful way.

This workshop is open to all interested singers. Reserve your place early! 25 participants minimum needed to cover costs. See details below.

Singing through a Lifetime

Saturday October 17, 2026

Kendal Auditorium, 2230 N. Triphammer Rd.

9:00-noon (coffee and refreshments starting at 8:30 am)

Workshop Fee: $20

This workshop will be presented by Katie Howell. Katie Rohr Howell is the vocal music teacher at Lansing High School, where she directs two choirs, teaches music theory, music appreciation, and vocal lessons, and acts as music director for the high school musical. She also directs the SummerSing Chorus, a community chorus that is part of the Affiliated Choruses of Ithaca. Before moving to the high school, she taught elementary school music in Lansing for several years, and high school and middle school music in Horseheads, NY. Katie received a bachelor’s degree in music education from Ithaca College and a master’s degree in music education from the Eastman School of Music. In the summer of 2000, she had the great privilege of traveling to Kimberley, South Africa with the Kimberley Project, where she taught vocal music to high school aged students and learned traditional South African songs from local musicians. Katie loves working with all age groups, and she works to create a relaxed yet robust atmosphere.
